William “Bill” Arthur Ostergard, 66, of Portland, OR passed peacefully while surrounded by his family and friends on the morning of August 25, 2016. Bill was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer just 9 days prior to his passing.

Bill was born on August 9, 1950 to Albin and Vivian (Carl) Ostergard. Bill was raised in Cedarville/Oakville, Washington. He was the seventh of eleven children.

Bill moved to Portland, OR at age 19 and his 40 year career as a Printer began. His brother Herm, who hired him at Evans Products Co., would become his business partner in the 80’s forming Ostergard Printing Co. where Bill worked until his retirement.

Bill married Marjorie (Maggie) in 1971. They were married for 16 years and had three children.

Bill was a genuinely good man who shared his kindness and joking ways wherever he went. He never had a bad thing to say to anyone. He believed in working hard and having fun, one going hand in hand with the other. His sense of humor was great and he was always a joy to be around. Bill enjoyed Sunday drives, hunting, fishing, cold cans of beer, gardening, pickling, golfing, betting on NASCAR races, playing games of shuffleboard, hosting BBQ/Oyster Feasts and especially spending time visiting with family and friends.

Bill is survived by his three children, Bryan (Tiffany), Matt, and Emily, grandchildren Chelsi, Evelyn, Vivian, Magnus, and Trinity, great-grandchildren Adalyn and Wes, and siblings Bev(Glen), John(Carol), Terry(Julie), Herm(Donna), Roy(Bev), Gayle(Dave), Vicky(Wayne), Sue(Butch), and Mike.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Albin and Vivian, his brother Bert, nephews Gary and Doug, and nieces Marta and Cindy.

Bill lived a beautiful life and will be deeply missed by many.
