William Calvin Nunn Jr. (Bill)

1966 – 2020

On the morning of November 30, 2020, William Calvin Nunn Jr. (Bill) passed away from Leukemia at the age of 54.

 
Bill was born in Portland, Oregon to William Sr. and Betty Nunn in 1966.

 
Bill attended Aloha high school and the night of his graduation in 1985 he moved to San Diego where he held several jobs in the food service industry. In 1990, Bill returned to Portland and worked as a landscaper and then at Norm Thompson before beginning his career in the car industry where he would spend the next 25 plus years. Bill was an exceptional salesman and viewed those shopping for cars as family, working to get them the best deal possible.

Bill had many passions. He loved the singer Kid Rock. He attended 20 of his concerts and four of his cruises. He loved to travel. He loved all kinds of music and often challenged family to music trivia. He was a huge fan of the Portland Trailblazers and was a season ticket holder. He played basketball and was very competitive when he did. His knowledge of sports statistics was uncanny. He truly was Pete Roses’ biggest fan. He loved his dogs, of which he had many and they loved him. He was the best doggy daddy. He loved his nephews and nieces, and cared for them as if they were his own.

 
His greatest love was Melissa. Bill and Melissa were grade school sweethearts, parting ways in high school. 32 years later, they reconnected after Bill found Melissa on social media. Bill loved Melissa with every breath in his body, and she him. They spent the last four years hanging out and belly laughing, talking about any and everything, while respecting each other’s difference. Their travels took them to Vegas, Disneyland, Hawaii, Leavenworth, New York, and many different beaches. They loved on their two dogs Laila and Lexie. They were true soul mates.

 
Bill was friendly, kind, funny, goofy, and loved to have fun. He will be sorely missed.

 
Bill is preceded in death by his father, William, and his mother, Betty. He is survived by his step-mother, Barbara Nunn, his fiancé, Melissa Coury, his siblings, Don Klein, Carolyn Bublat, Debra Horvath, David Klein, Joseph Nunn, Teri Gates, and Todd Peterson, several nieces and nephews, and his former spouse, Ronda Nunn.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date.
