Ted Cottingham, 66, a longtime resident of Portland, Oregon, passed away at his home on March 5th 2019 of natural causes.

Ted was born in 1952 in Boring, Oregon. He spent his early childhood in the area of Damascus, Oregon. Ted attended Rowe Jr. High and Clackamas High School. He went to College at the University of Idaho on a full baseball scholarship and graduated with a degree in history. Ted worked for 40+ years in the garden supply industry. He started working at the Chas. H. Lilly Company during summer breaks from college and after 2 years of residing in Waldport, Oregon, he returned to work at Chas. H. Lilly Co. full time. When the business was sold to Garden Grow, he was employed there for a short time. Ted retired on January 1st, 2019 from Central Garden & Pet where he was a traffic/distribution manager for several years. When Ted wasn’t working, he enjoyed traveling in his motor home with his wife and his dog Coco, often visiting their daughter, Teresa at her home in Las Vegas.

Ted is preceded in death by his father Richard Ted Cottingham, his mother Vicky Hatz, stepfather Robert Hatz and by his Sister Susan.

Ted is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patti, his only child Teresa, of Las Vegas, Nevada and his younger brother Carl, of Tigard, Oregon.
