Remembering Sharon L. Rupert

January 28, 1943 – August 10, 2021

Sharon passed away August 10, 2021 of pancreatic cancer at the age of 78. She was at home in Lake Oswego, Oregon with her sons, Eric and Chad, by her side.
She was born on January 28, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio to Dorothy (Pummill) Olbers and Clifford Olbers and had a good life alongside her five sisters Marie (Bob) Mills, Carol (Roma) Wyatt, Joy (Bob) White, Barbara (George) Voegringer and Della (Ken) Wyatt.

Sharon graduated from Stivers High school in Ohio. She met her deceased ex-husband Tom Rupert and they had her most beloved treasures, Eric and Chad. After her divorce, she moved to Oregon where she had a successful career with Aetna Insurance till retirement. Her sons came to be with her and served her well to the end.
She loved God and was passionate about sharing that love through service to others, encouraging and lifting up all those she met. She was always joyful, laughing, fun- loving and sometimes quite silly. She loved to cook, hike and travel both at home and internationally, capturing beauty and adventure, and being fully present.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Clifford Olbers, her ex-husband, Tom Rupert, sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Bob Mills, Carol and
Roma Wyatt, Joy and Bob White, and her nephew, Todd Wyatt. She is survived by her sons, Eric Rupert of Portland, Oregon and Chad Rupert of Hillsboro, Oregon, and sisters, Barbara Voehringer (George) of Yellow Springs, Ohio and Della Wyatt (Ken) of Dayton, Ohio. She has 12 nieces and nephews, and their children, of whom she loved seeing when back in Ohio. She has a host of friends in Oregon, Ohio and throughout the USA and abroad.

Though she is gone, we have hope and expectation that we will be reunited with her once again. She is with Jesus, the lover of her soul, in her eternal home. Our earthly loss is heaven’s gain.

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
