Ruth was born in Portland Oregon to parents Ernest Elmgren and Marie Mortenson. Ruth married Keith Cota in 1948. Ruth married Jerome Jones in 1961.

Ruth worked at the Formosa Cafe in North Portland for many years.

Ruth was a “people person” and was always quite talkative and outgoing. She had many friends and a great sense of humor. She loved music, animals and was great with plants and flowers.

Ruth was preceeded in death by her Sister Marguerite Elmgren and her brother Ernest Elmgren. She is survived by her children Jeffrey Cota, Suzy (Cota) Rainville, Maitland “Ed” Jones, Jamin Jones and granddaughter Shannon Tupper.
