Ruby E. Anderson, 78, of Portland, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, surrounded by family and loved ones. She grew up in St. Johns with younger sister, Barbara, and graduated from Girl’s Poly High School in 1955. She went to work for the phone company that same year, and retired in 1979 so that she could be a full-time wife and mother. She was a dedicated and wonderful homemaker, who had a love and passion for sewing and quilting. Her beautiful quilts, table runners, and wall hangings grace the homes and walls of many family members. She and husband, Jerry, were married for 47 wonderful years. She has three children and seven grandchildren, whom she thoroughly enjoyed spoiling as grandmas should. Her memorial will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11 a.m., at Lynwood Friends Church, 835 SE 162nd, Portland. Any donations can be made to the Lynwood Friends Preschool. Special thanks goes to all who visited Ruby during her final weeks, as well as those who kindly sent flowers and cards. Our hearts are appreciative.
