(1996-2023)

Rourke Steven Church McWilliams was born January 30, 1996, in Salinas, California. He was a man of God and went to his heavenly home on March 21, 2023, in Portland, Oregon. Rourke graduated from Salinas High School in 2014, where he was active in sports and Youth and Government. He earned a degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Business from Arizona State University in 2018. He was an active member of Sigma Chi where he made lifelong friends.

Upon graduating, Rourke pursued real estate in Arizona and Los Angeles before joining his brother, Connor in Portland, Oregon. Once in Oregon, he and his brother partnered in investing in commercial real estate, construction, and hotel management in the greater Portland area. He was very proud of his first rental property. Before passing, he was working on his commercial drivers license which he was very much looking forward to. He was excited to see the country and to see his friends all over.

Rourke loved making people laugh, gave the biggest hugs, and was a genuine charmer. He loved sharing his passion for reading, country music, and movies with everyone dear to him. He was extremely smart and constantly curious. He owned a red vintage GMC pick-up truck which he loved to take out on long drives in the countryside. In his last year, he often spent time at his brother’s farm by Mt Hood, Oregon, and together they enjoyed working on the land and caring for the animals. He was a dreamer who loved the bigger things in life and always made sure the people around him knew how loved they are.

Rourke leaves his family; father, Kevin McWilliams, mother, Carrie Taylor, brother, Connor McWilliams, his grandmothers, Jannita McCarty and Joanne Taylor; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins and many friends.

Rourke was universally loved and will be missed by many. Celebration of Life will be Saturday, April 22, 10:30 am at First Baptist Church, 1130 San Vincente Avenue, Salinas, California. A reception will follow.
