Ronnie «Ron» Merrill Jossy lost his life due to medical complications on January 22, 2016 at the age of 53. Ron died at Portland Adventist Hospital.

Ron was born on January 16, 1963 in Portland, Oregon to Henry James Jossy and Darlene Elizabeth Jossy.

Ron had a good life growing up he attended Richmond Elementary Grade School and later Graduated in 1981 from Benson Polytechnic High School where he Majored in Sheet Metal.
After graduation Ron was accepted into an Apprenticeship program with Sheet Metal Workers Local #16, following brother Randy’s footsteps, for about 2 years. Ron then decided to pursue job opportunities at Freightliner Corporation where he worked in the Plate Shop as a Shear Man, Press Brake Operator and Hole Punch Technician. Ron still searching for something he would really like to do, he began to take Welding Classes at Portland Community College, After obtaining several certifications in various Fields of Welding, he became discouraged by the wages offered in that field, It was during that time in Ron’s life that he was diagnosed as being Paranoid Schizophrenic and the years ahead were very challenging for Ron, but he was surrounded and supported by family and friends.
Ron, finally by chance went to work at Joe Breads, a specialty order Bakery where he found his passion for Baking, all types of breads and cookies. Ron enjoyed and looked forward to outdoor opportunities with his family and friends Camping, Fishing, Hunting and Crabbing; he was always ready to go. He especially enjoyed spending Birthdays and Holidays with family and friends.

In 1992 Ron helped his brother Randy form the foundation and put siding on his house, he was building.

Ron was married on June 19, 2007 to Ericka Baldwin at the Barview Jetty on the Oregon Coast. His hobbies stayed true to his nature, he got himself a Toy Poodle «Honey Pie» which became his inseparable side kick.

Ron sometimes pushed the limit or I should say knew what buttons to push, but then that was Ron.

Ron was survived by his Mother, Darlene Jossy Robinett of Jantzen Beach, Oregon; Son, Jonathan; 2 Brothers, Randy Jossy of Portland Oregon, Henry Kenny of Homer Alaska; 1 Sister, Rhonda «Sis» of Camano Island, Washington and 1 Granddaughter, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Ron was preceded in death by his Father, Henry James Jossy

Ron missed his father who had passed away December 2015 just one month before Ron’s passing. We are hoping they are reunited today.

We love and miss you Ron.
