Raymond Lovell Hickam, 60, Roseburg OR

Raymond’s story begins January 2nd, 1958, youngest child to Willa Dean and Chester Leroy Hickam, father to Rachel Leann and Bridget Raelyn Hickam, and brother to Marvin Dewayne Hickam, Marian Dean Stogsdill, and Ada Marie Morris. Roseburg, Oregon was the small town in which he grew up and he continued to be a lifelong resident. He spent the majority of his childhood loving the outdoors. Ray had a passion for camping, swimming, and fishing along the riverbank of the North Umpqua with his family and childhood friends.

In October of 1984, at age 26, he met the love of his life, Brenda Lea Moore. Not long after meeting her, they happily married March 2, 1985, living a life together for thirteen years before their first child, Bridget Raelyn Hickam, was welcomed into the world. Fourteen months later, Brenda gave birth to their second child, Rachel Leann Hickam. His family was the light of his life and he spent every second of everyday proving it to be just that. The Lord took the hand of our beloved son, brother, father and friend on October 6, 2018.

Raymond will be forever remembered as a man that would do anything for anyone. He was selfless and every single time, he’d put others needs above his own. He always had so much love to give and could light up any room he walked into. Ray will be truly missed in the eyes of his friends, family, and loved ones.
