Randy Christopher (Taylor) Johnson, a loving father, grandfather, spouse, son, brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, friend and auto mechanic to many ‰ÛÒ peacefully met his Merciful Maker in Glory at home following a long-term and valiant struggle with illness on April 21, 2016. He was 54.

Randy was born, raised and lived in Portland, Oregon, where he made a name for himself as «The Mechanic,» serving the automobile-repair needs of north- and east-side communities for decades. After attending Madison High School and Vocational Village’s auto mechanic program, he embarked on a lifelong journey that included being father to five children and being blessed with six grandchildren,many who remember him as «Papa.»

Friends and family know Randy for his warm-heartedness, fierce independence, innocent humor and willingness to lend a hand in any way that he could.often, in spite of the odds. In addition, customers and clients of «The Mechanic,» will remember Randy for his exemplary patience, compassion and dedication to his trade.

Those close to Randy will also remember his love and concern for family, passion for repairing cars and driving, and taste for pizza and other fast-food favorites as well as a proudly acquired taste for Southern Host. Along with his eternal love for all who knew him, Randy leaves the gift of cherished memories of him doing what he loved most, camping, fishing and barbecuing with family and friends.

Randy is survived by his partner Tabitha; daughters Stephanie (and Coleko Whitaker) and Ari’Onna; sons Randy, Deontae and Victor; and grandchildren Ca’mari, Kamiah, Kalianna, Carlos, Ty’Rique and Addison.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Omega Funeral & Cremation Service, 223 SE 122nd Avenue, Portland, Ore., 97233. Refreshments will be served afterward.

A PanikhÌda prayer service was held at the Eastern Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in Milwaukie, Ore., on April 23, 2016 for Randy, who was re-Baptized «Christopher» one week before his passing.
