Ralph Nelson Young

March 26,1937 – August 28, 2020

Ralph Nelson Young, 83, of Portland, OR, son of Frank and Evelyn Young, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Lois, of 60 years and three children: Penne Ruth (Kevin), Tim Young and Doug Young (Deborah). He is also survived by his brother Robert Young, and two granddaughters, Sara Ruth and Emily Ruth.

Ralph was born in Saginaw, MI. He had two brothers and a sister. He grew up in Saginaw, MI, graduated from Northwestern College in Minneapolis, MN, and Denver Seminary in Denver, CO. He served as a minister of Christ for 40 years, pastoring churches in Lakewood, CO; Cedar Rapids, IA; Billings, MT; Edmonds, WA and Portland, OR. In retirement he continued ministering as an interim pastor in several churches in the Northwest.

Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and yard work. While we are saddened Ralph is no longer here with us, we rejoice that he is worshipping at the feet of Jesus, his Lord and Savior. A favorite Scripture was Philippians 3:13-14; of which Ralph’s translation was “Keep ON Keeping ON”.
