Oretha «Rita» Nesbitt

Oretha «Rita» Nesbitt, 92, of Portland Oregon, passed away July 04, 2015 peacefully in her sleep at Marquis-Piedmont Care Center.

Born Oretha Olivine Whitlock to Benny and Opal Whitlock in Missouri.

Rita was married to Harry R. Nesbitt, October 21, 1952 in Yakima Washington.

Rita graduated from Central Washington University and taught school in Montana until retirement. Then moved to Portland Oregon.

Rita enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles and knitting.
She put her talent of knitting sweaters and hats for the babies in NICU at Legacy Emanuel
Hospital, for about 20 years.

Rita is survived by two sons: David, Seattle WA. and John, Wolf Point MT. Daughter Janet Bliss, Portland OR. Sister. Amanda Palmer. Yakima WA. 10 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great-Great Grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and the rest of her extended family and friends.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, her husband Harry R. Nesbitt and daughter Margaret Donahue.

The Memorial Services will be at Gethsemane Lutheran Church 11560 SE Market St, Portland Oregon, July 24, 2015 at 11:00 am. A private burial will be in Opheim Montana-where she will peacefully rest next to her husband.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Gethsemane Lutheran Church or
Legacy Hospice Services.

The family of Rita Nesbitt wishes to give a Special thanks to Nettie Ubrick and Joan Rentz, the best friends ever. Also a big thanks to the staff at Marquis-Piedmont Care Center, for making her final days so comfortable. Finally, Legacy Hospice with caring supportive staff.
