Share your Memorial with Family & Friends

My heart is breaking for Jan, my dear Aunt Nettie, and my cousins; Jay, Matt, Paul, and Jenny. It is an awful void when we lose a charismatic, kind person. I will always remember Mike for the kindness he showed me as a young girl, and most especially for his compassion while helping our family deal with the grief of losing our brother Tom. He had us laughing through our tears with stories that eased the weight of mourning. I hope that you can do this for each other, I think Mike would like that. Peace to you all, Nancy (Blacker) Alexander

My good friend Mike. You touched so many people in your life time. It makes it so hard to realize your gone..I will always keep my memories of our great golf trips and all the good times we had. You rest my friend, you deserve it.

Mike would always make you feel special. He definitely loved his golf and always wanted to get better. Whether a good round or poor round, Mike was always ready to talk over everyone’s good shots with a cocktail. He was a friend that always had a smile and kind words words for everyone. Mike, I will miss you.

To Jan, and to Mike's entire family, we are so very sorry for your loss. One of my first memories of Mike was Jan bringing him to my birthday party many, many years ago. He had never met anyone, but just blended in and talked to everyone. Holidays and family events won't be the same. He will be sadly missed by all. I hope he is at rest, hanging out with the cats and watching golf. Terri and Bob

Mike had the gift of making you feel comfortable and cared for. We met Mike and Jan at the club and felt like we’d known them forever. We will miss him terribly and remember him always!! Love and a million hugs to Jan!

I love this story of your beloved’s life. He was a quietly handsome, intelligent, caring, first son to my dear friend Janette or “Nettie”. I see he liked to have fun, just like his Mom! And wife to his Sweet Jan. I cannot fully imagine the hole this leaves for your loving family. May the memories help to sustain you. What is that saying about the good ones always going first? I lift my glass to toast this good man, Michael Ivey, and a life well-lived! Deepest condolences. Cathy Holbrook

A life lost far too soon...I'll always remember the first time Jan brought you home for Christmas and we met you for the first time. We are a large family that talks over each other, as families do. Jan was sick that Christmas Day, so she went and took a nap on the couch...for hours! And you sat at the kitchen table and played cards with a loud, boisterous family that you had just met, and it seemed like the most natural thing in the world for you; you fit right in. And Rick and I always remember how you would 'help' Rick (or maybe that was the other way around!) assemble Derek's toys from Santa after Derek went to bed on Christmas Eve. You gave a good fight, Mike, and I'm so sorry to see you go, but now you can rest in peace. Debbie and Rick
