April 22, 1936 - October 23, 2017 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Mary Lee (Shults) Palmer passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, in her childhood home. She was 81. Born in Seattle, she moved to Portland as a little girl and remained a long-time resident of the City of Roses. Mary Lee graduated from Immaculata Academy and attended Marylhurst College for a time. After retiring from Culver Glass Company, she was able to focus her attention on her interests, which included family, gardening, sewing, music, baking, reading, and all children. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver, in countless ways, to family members. Mary Lee showed deep kindness to others. Despite her own challenges, she was selfless, and would always put the wishes of others before her own. She was always content with what she had and would make sure the needs of her children and grandchildren went first. Mary Lee leaves behind her five sons and a daughter: Mark, Doug, Steven, Greg, Susan, and Michael; as well as grandchildren, Megan, Kyra, Christopher, Madelaine, and Jefferson; daughters-in-law: Dianna, Thu, Rose, and Ruthie; great grandchildren, Kamiah, Owen, Natalie, Makai, and Henry; sister, Ann; her many nieces and nephews; friends and other extended family. Mary Lee was preceded in death by her loving parents, Louis and Eleanor, and siblings Bill and Jane.
