November 28, 1955 - November 11, 2017 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Born: November 28, 1955, Norwalk, Connecticut Died: November 13, 2017, Portland, Oregon Mark was the third son of George Michael Stefanco Stevens and Ruth Ellen DeWeese Stevens. He is survived by three brothers, George, Greg and Tim; three sons, Chris, Robert and Garrett; and by the love of his life Lori Weller. Mark was fiercely proud of his sons and their accomplishments and success. Mark was a superlative athlete at Tigard High School, in football he as a “natural” quarterback and baseball, a “triple threat” as a pitcher, center fielder and clean-up batter. He also played for the Tigard Blue Sox under Jack Ryan and Roger Clark. Mark was a veteran in the United States Navy Air Corps as a loadmaster. He also earned an associate’s degree from Emery-Riddle College while in the navy. Mark was an avid fan of the Giants baseball, Niners football and all O.S.U. sports, as his son Chris is a Beaver Alum. Robert is an Army staff sergeant. Garrett has a bachelor of engineering degree from Portland State. Chris has a Doctorate in Physiology and Physical Therapy. Mark and Lori were together for nearly two decades. They enjoyed a deep and loving relationship, deepening to the end. The family is eternally grateful to Lori for meaning so much to Mark, and for being instrumental in his final success. Mark had recently taken a new job with the State of Oregon in the Veterans Benefits department. He was thrilled with his work, happy and excited about life. He was a gentle soul, who supported and lead the cheers for those he loved. He enjoyed the successes of others and touted them as an expression of love. Mark is deeply loved, well remembered and sorely missed.
