Marissa Patrice Frank. Of Vancouver, Washington.

On the morning of August 22nd, 2017, Marissa passed away at Kaiser Permanente – Sunnyside Hospital ICU Center in Clackamas, Oregon.  Marissa was 34 years old.

Marissa Frank was born at Saint Patrick’s Hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana at 3:18 am on April 6th, 1983. She was the first child, of Marva Jean and Paul R Frank Jr.

Marissa was very bright and inquisitive child that learned to read and write at 3 years of age. She was placed in Calcasieu Parish School System’s exceptional learning program (SPARK). She was unhappy in the program because there were too few girls there. She was then placed in Saint Margaret’s Elementary where she found her lifelong and dearest girl friends and excelled at being a great student that cherished serving roles as a student (Big Sister), Altar Server, and Cheer Squad. She attended Alfred M. Barbe High School in Lake Charles graduating in 2001 and completed her Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice and Criminology in 2005.

Marissa moved to Washington State following her graduation and applied, tested and was accepted for employment by the Department of Homeland Security. She was assigned to the PDX security team and there she worked a variety of assignments and loved each new job as a personal challenge of her ability to adapt and excel. She made many life long friends on that PDX Team, Carrie, Brian, Jahara, and many others that she loved and deeply cared for. She made them all her family and was always there for a life celebration, whether it was a wedding, birthday, or divorce, she would be there to lift a friend’s spirit and to share that special moment in their lives. She loved her independence, Movies, Traveling, and Fashion; she also had an enormous passion for reading especially Steven King novels.

 

Marissa was preceded in death by her: Maternal Grandparents (Olivia and Leonard Mayo), Paternal Grandparents (Elsie and Paul R Frank Sr.) and is survived by her Parents (Marva and Paul R Frank Jr), Dearest Sister (Maranda/Pierre), Beloved Brother (Maurice) and her beautiful Godchild (Olivia Rose) and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

 

A memorial service will be held for Marissa at Omega Funeral Services in Portland, Oregon on Saturday August 26^th 2017 for all of her friends and coworkers.
