January 5, 2021 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Marion Frances Craig, 75, of Gresham, Oregon, after a nearly six month battle with aggressive cancer, passed away peacefully, on January 5th, 2021, at home with her husband and children by her side. Marion worked for nearly 27 years at Pacific NW Bell and retired at the young age of 44. She spent her retirement doing the things she loved. Lunches and laughter with her dear friends, spending time in her garden, going to art shows, shopping for gifts, extended telephone calls, visiting the grandchildren, golfing, trips with her husband, caring for her neighbors and being there for her friends as they were in the final stages of their lives. Marion’s legacy of love will be carried on by her husband of 42 years, Bill Craig; her children, Kim (Simon) Davies, Ken (Jerri) Brown; her dearly loved grandchildren, Zack (Nicole) Brown and Jake (Hannah) Brown and Christopher Schetter; her sister, Nancy Hughes; and the newest members of the family, her adored great grandchildren, Chance and Kade Brown. Marion had many dear friends who loved her as deeply as she loved them. Marion wrote the following in the months prior to her passing and it seems to say the most about who and what she loved: “Remember me as I was, my smile, my laugh. Think of me as the goldfinch that flits by or as the hummer that stops to sip. Think of me as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Think of me as a wife and life long partner, a sister, a best friend and caring neighbor. Oh, my heart is full. Remember my love of flowers, animals, books and each and every one of you. This is not goodbye, you see, I’ve left my heart with you.” Though Marion loved flowers, it is requested that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made in her honor to any of these organizations that meant so much to her: Oregon Guide Dogs for the Blind, The Humane Society and The Audubon Society. A private service, for family, will be held at Willamette National Cemetery at a later date. A celebration of life will be scheduled when we can all gather safely together, laugh, share memories and honor Marion with a celebration she deserves. Please share your memories of her here in the guest book or if you have her email address, please send it there. We love to hear your remembrances.
