Lucretia Anne Fisher, 79, of Portland, OR died peacefully on October 28, 2017 with friends at her side. Lucretia was born on February 25, 1938 in Phelps County, Nebraska and spent her early years there on the family farm. Lucretia graduated from Elm Creek High School. She married and had one son, Clair. She attended Karney State College and Chadron State College in Nebraska and received advanced degrees in music. She later was divorced and moved to Oregon, becoming a teacher and school psychologist.  She also spent time working for the state of Oregon as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the Oregon State Hospital. During her employment there, she developed and received a grant for honoring cultural diversity by teaching and creating cultural experiences for the patients.

She enjoyed mountain climbing and hiking in the Pacific Northwest and was a long-time member of the Mazamas. Lucretia had a life-long passion for music, holding season tickets for the Portland Opera and Symphony for many years.  She also enjoyed a quilting group of friends and volunteered with the Friends of Seasonal Service Workers. She is survived by her son Clair Fisher of Nampa, Idaho, her sister Betty Williams of Georgia, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Orrie and Mae Marshall and siblings Vivian, Keith, Basil, and LaDonna.

Lucretia did not wish to have a service and asked that family and friends celebrate her life in whatever way they wished.  She will be buried at the Williamsburg Cemetery in Nebraska.  Memorials may go to pancreatic cancer research or the Williamsburg Methodist Church in Elm Creek, Nebraska.
