Louise Mae Marquis

July 15, 1924 – December 4, 2021

Louise Mae Marquis of Gladstone, Oregon died December 4th, 2021, at the age of 97.

Louise was born on July 15, 1924, to Clyde and Elsie Fromong of Gladstone, Oregon. The youngest of three children, she had an older sister Lois Blair, and older brother Everett Fromong. Family was everything to Louise.

After World War II, she was an active member of the Gladstone VFW Auxiliary for many years.

Louise’s first job was working for Western Union.

On October 5, 1946, she married Henry Dale Marquis at the Church of Christ in Gladstone, Oregon. She had two daughters, Janet and Kathy. While raising her daughters, she worked each fall in the Holly farms in Milwaukie to make extra money for Christmas.

On April 19, 1971, Louise and Dale divorced. Afterwards she worked for Circle K as a grocery clerk, then for ABM as an office maintenance worker until she retired at the age of 72.

She lived in the Gladstone area until the age of 80 when she moved to Louisiana with her longtime companion Glenn Greer. After Glenn died, she returned home to Oregon.

She was preceded in death by daughter Kathleen Marquis Nuljon, granddaughter Julie Ann Phillips, brother Everett Fromong, and longtime companion Glenn Greer.

She is survived by her sister Lois Blair. Her daughter Janet Phillips and husband Dan. Her granddaughters Shelley Eisele Thompson and husband Mark, and Darleen Eisele Root and husband Rusty. Grandsons Berkley Eisele and wife SallyDay, and Scott Phillips and wife Tawnya. And many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

According to her wishes, there will not be a service.

Louise will be interred at Mountain View Cemetery 500 Hilda St Oregon City Oregon 97045. Date to be determined.
