Laura Ann Exley

July 29, 1958 – March 31, 2025

Laura Ann Exley, 66, of Portland, Oregon, passed away March 31, 2025.  Laura was born July 29, 1958 in Savannah, Georgia to Cordell W. and Shirley Woods Exley. She was valedictorian of the first graduating class of Effingham Academy in Springfield, Georgia.  After graduating from Georgia Southern University, she was a career civil service employee.  She worked in Warner Robins, Georgia, California, and Maryland.  She retired in Portland, Oregon.

Laura was preceded in death by grandparents Allison N. Jr. and Helena Woods, and Miller F. and Marie Exley.

She is survived by her parents Cordell W. and Shirley Woods Exley, one sister, Susan Exley Chapman (Dr. Michael), and a niece, Dr. Anna Chapman, all of Eatonton, Georgia.  She is also survived by a niece, Dr. Sarah Swinson (Christopher) and their children, Nate and Caroline, of Hazlehurst, Georgia, and a nephew, David Chapman (Morgan), and their son, Bennett, of Vidalia, Georgia.
