January 1, 1970 - January 1, 1970 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Kathy Raifsnyder
Kathy Ann Raifsnyder was born in Seattle. At the age of four, she moved with her family to Puerto Rico, her mother and siblings’ birthplace. Even after returning to the Northwest as a young adult and enjoying her life here, her heart always remained in Puerto Rico. Kathy Ann will be remembered for her love of music, dance and everything «boricua». Her true love, however, was children. For 20 years, Kathy Ann worked at Fruit & Flower Child Care Center where she cared for infants. Her loving ways and gentle manner endeared her to the children, parents and staff. She touched the lives of all those with whom she came in contact. Even during her long illness, she loved nothing more than to receive the visits of the children, many of whom she had in her class and never forgot their «Kaffy.» Kathy Ann was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, friend and teacher. She is survived by her mother, Carmen Raifsnyder; her brother, Harold Raifsnyder Jr.; her sister, Elba Kunsman; her nephew, Donald Kunsman and wife, Cicely and their sons, Nicholas and Daniel; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Raifsnyder Sr. and her brother, Robert Raifsnyder. Her network of intimate friends is too numerous to mention by name, but those friends were her extended and beloved family and lovingly supported Kathy throughout her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Fruit & Flower Child Care Center, 2378 NW Irving Street, Portland, OR 97210, 503-228-8349.
