March 22, 1962 - June 12, 2017 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Reception to follow June Alice Rheingrover March 22, 1962 – June 12, 2017 Metastatic Breast Cancer ended our hero June’s life journey on June 12, 2017. When she made her transition, she was surrounded by the loving light of many friends and family, and her sweet little dog and bedmate “Lola” by her side. June started the “I am the face of Metastatic Breast Cancer” Facebook Group. She was a staunch advocate for the advancement of MBC research and participated in a clinical trial at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles CA. She reached out to countless individuals impacted by the disease, and loved and supported everyone whose life she touched. Born in Oak Park, Illinois on March 22, 1962, she attended Dilworth Elementary, Miller Junior High and Lynbrook High School in San Jose CA. During High School, she was an exchange student in Morocco. She was a Delta Gamma Sister at University of the Pacific, graduating in 1984. During College, she studied abroad in France and Switzerland and spoke fluent French. Her love of travel influenced June’s career choice when she became an American Airlines International Flight Attendant in 1985. After joining American, she lived in Chicago IL, St Maarten NA, Wilmington NC, Raleigh NC and Johns Creek GA before moving to Troutdale OR She was based in ORD, RDU, MIA and DFW. She met her husband Patrick Norris, a Portland OR native and Pilot on a 2004 trip from Miami to Paris, which was their home away from home. They were married on January 3, 2013 in Alpharetta GA. In addition to her loving husband, June is survived by her parents Bob and Joanne Rheingrover of San Jose CA, her daughters, Sara Kinkelaar of Chicago IL and Mireya Suarez Pedraza (who June and Patrick brought to the US from Bolivia in 2010) of Troutdale OR and her brother Russell Rheingrover of San Francisco CA. A celebration of her life will be held at Omega Funeral and Cremation, 223 SE 122nd Portland OR 97233 on June 23, 2017 at 3PM. A Memorial Service for June will be held for her American Airlines Family to attend in the Miami, FL area at a later date and time.
