April 1, 1929 - August 21, 2021 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Jovito Pere Marzan gained eternal rest Saturday, August 21, 2021 in the comfort of his Portland home. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Many affectionately knew Jovito as “Bitong” or “Tatang”. Jovito was born an only child on April 1, 1929 in Quimmarayan, Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur in the Philippines to the late Leo and Severa Marzan. He was joined in holy matrimony to his cherished wife of 61 years, Felisa, in Manaoag, Pangasinan, Philippines on January 28, 1960. She survives along with their four children, Milagros (Victor) Antonio, Marina (Marnie) Baptista and Lorna (Jim) Kornelussen, all of Gresham, OR., and Benjamin (Maribel) Marzan of Portland, OR.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jovito retired from the University Club of Portland after almost 30 years of employment. He was an outstanding employee, often receiving awards from his superiors and accolades from his co-workers. Visitation will be for one hour, 8:30am – 9:30am, Monday, August 30, prior to the Celebration of Life Service at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 2310 SE 148th Ave., Portland, OR 97233. Rev. Fr. Ted Prentice will officiate. Interment will take place at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, 11666 SE Stevens Rd., Happy Valley, OR 97086. Reception is at 1:00pm at 29138 SE Powell Valley Rd., Gresham, OR 97080.
