Joanne’s Life Story

Surrounded by her loving family, Joanne Joseph, 87, of Portland, Oregon went to heaven on September l 61h, 2020 to join her predeceased husband. Mal Joseph, her mother and father, brothers and sisters and so many friends that have gone before her time.

Joanne was born in Missoula Montana on April 17th 1933 to Mary and Zure Johns. She was the youngest of seven children. She married the love of her life, Mal Joseph on September 22nd, 1953. Together they had four wonderful children and shared 62 years of marriage. Joanne lived a full life as a devoted, loving, and kind wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Joanne loved to cook, kept an immaculate house and had an eye for decorating. Her home was always open to everyone and seldom did she spend time alone. Joanne cherished family, friend and entertaining. She also liked shopping, golfing, playing cards and traveling.

Loving the sun, she chose Lake Havasu as her winter destination for many years. She had an extraordinary mind for business and worked alongside her husband for 50 years.

Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her families strong values that continue to serve them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Joanne is survived by her children Mal Joseph Jr. (Lori), Dennis Joseph (Tammy), Mary Jo Joseph-Duby (Stephen) and Mark Joseph (Eileen). She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was the last sibling in the Johns family.

Mass will be held At St. Joseph the Worker, Friday, September 25^th at 1:00PM.
