March 3, 1939 - November 4, 2016 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends An eager volunteer for the Portland Art Museum, Portland Symphony and local Volkswalks events, Joan’s first love after her family was traveling. She walked in all 50 state capitals — the last one in Juneau earlier this year. She capped off years of countless treks to other countries with a train trip across Canada. Joan loved to expose her family to new adventures and had tickets to take her great-granddaughter Abigail York to Ā«Frozen Fairy TalesĀ» at the symphony on Nov. 13. She was a longtime member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and honored her Norwegian heritage by making lefse for every Christmas. Joan is survived by son John Larson and daughter Becky Larson Foubert, both of Vancouver, Wash.; five grandchildren, Brandi, Zachery and Jeremy Larson, and Traci and Benjamin Foubert; three greatgrandchildren, and brothers Dean and Gary Lokken. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Marcella Lokken, of Lebanon, Ore., and grandson Randy Williams. Services will be at Resurrection Lutheran Church on Saturday, November 19th at 1:00 PM.Joan Larson
