Jean Renné Carter, 63, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8th, 2017.  Renné was born on October 9th, 1953 in Savannah, Georgia.  She was the daughter of Carroll and Wilma Underwood, and was the only girl of 9 children.  Renné graduated from Hoopeston High School in 1971.  She is survived by her husband, Dennis, who she met on a blind date and later married in 1972.  They both recently renewed their wedding vows after 45 years of marriage, which took place on September 24th, 2017.

Renné was known by her family and friends as an outgoing and genuinely fun person to be around.  She never met a stranger she couldn’t talk to, and minutes later, having that person tell her their life story.  She could make a friendship with just about anyone, and was often drawn to learning more about other people, and their interests.  Renné also enjoyed playing various tabletop games, including Yahtzee, which she was secretly very competitive with while playing friends and family members.  She also loved to shop and socialize with friends.  Renné was adamant on ensuring her kids always had things that she never had while growing up.  She made every holiday and birthday special for those she loved.

Renné is also survived by her three children – Dustin Carter, 36, of Normal, IL, Dana Fritz (Ryan), 31, of Vancouver, WA, and Alex Carter, 27, of Vancouver, WA.  Surviving also are four brothers, Brian Underwood (Becky), Todd Underwood, Rick Underwood (Amanda), and David Underwood.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Carroll and Wilma Underwood, and her four other brothers, Jimmy Underwood, Bob Underwood, Randy Underwood, and Don Underwood.

Based on Renné’s wishes, there will be no formal service.  Memorials can be sent to Dennis Carter, 3606 NE 45th St., Vancouver, WA 98661.
