James O. Green

James O. Green (Jim), 81, peacefully went to be with Jesus on November 19th with family at his bedside following a major stroke.

He was born in Lead Hill, Arkansas to Leuvenia and Pleas Green. He was the older brother to John and Pleas Jr. His family moved to Cowiche, WA where he attended Highland High School and met his future wife Carolyn McCracken.

He served our country in the Air Force and was stationed in Reno, NV where he often recounted wonderful memories. He married Carolyn, his loving wife of 56 years and obtained his electrician’s license from Perry Trade. He retired in 2003 from Platt Electric and they moved to the Portland area to be closer to Suzanne and any future grandchildren.

Jim humbly lived out his faith by example. He was kind, soft spoken and had a generous heart. He and Carolyn supported local and overseas missions. He faithfully served his church City Bible Church until he could no longer attend, then watched online every Sunday. He gave and helped countless people over his lifetime and never expected anything in return. He never spoke poorly of others but was quick to assume the best.

He was a voracious reader, enjoyed listening to old time country music and keeping up with family and friends online. His greatest love was spending time with family, especially being Papa to his treasured grandchildren, Sydney (14) and Elijah (11).

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother John and his baby girl Amy Kristin. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn, his daughter Suzanne and her husband Eric Smith, grandchildren, Sydney and Elijah and his brother, Pleas Jr.

A memorial service will be held at Mannahouse Church in the chapel on Friday, December 4th at 11am. Following the service, he will be interned at Willamette National Cemetery. Condolences and memories are gladly accepted at Omegaservices.com
