Iris Ramiz, 57, born to Apostle Walter Scott Sr. and Pastor Doris Scott of Pace, Mississippi, passed away on January 12, 2017 in Portland, OR.  Funeral services will be held 11 am, Friday, January 27th at Life Change Church.  Arrangements by Omega Funeral Services.

Iris married the love of her life Tracy Ramiz on March 17, 1976 in Portland, Oregon.  She graduated with her diploma and worked as a Social Worker helping individuals achieve self-sufficiency in addition to her working since the age of 15 in her parents church at Portland Miracle Revival.

Iris loved her husband Tracy Ramiz, her children two daughters LaFreda and Fa’Lisha and her many grandchildren.  Iris received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very early age.  She spent most of her life serving in the house of God, where she found her strength and foundation for helping others.

Iris founded the Spiritual Explosion in 1979 which began as a Youth Revival.  Over the years, the annual event has inspired and won many to Christ.  Iris’ mission was to see lives changed and transformed by a true encounter of our living God.  She often wove this into countless sessions with many people that came to the Lord.  In addition to the Spiritual Explosion, Iris went on to found the Saturday Night Live which several upcoming ministers who later became pastors in the community would share God’s word via the platform of the Portland Miracle Revival Church.  The church was led by her parents Bishop Walter Scott and Pastor Doris Scott.  At Iris’ ascension she served as the Assistant Pastor of Portland Miracle Revival Church.

Iris was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She loved fiercely and she would move mountains if she could for the people she loved.  Her children LaFreda and Fa’Lisha remember her fondly as a mother who wanted the absolute best for them.  In addition, she instilled the word of God in them both and often gave them sound advice with wisdom that helped shaped and mold their lives as adults, wives, and mothers.  Iris was truly an example of what unconditional love really means for family as well as the community.

Iris is preceded in death by her husband Tracy Ramiz and brother Jimmy Scott.

Iris is survived by children: her daughters LaFreda Ceaser and Fa’Lisha RamizBrown, sons William (Dion) Ceaser and Ronald Brown Sr., her parents Walter and Doris Scott, brothers and sisters Walter Scott Jr., Elvis Scott, Ella Rose Kelly, Gloria Stidum, Perry Scott, Emanuel Scott, Chelsea Scott, and Dale Scott, grand children Irisa Ramiz, Ronald Brown Jr., Shirley (Macy) Ceaser, Kierra Williams Brown, Arainnia Brown, Dionte Ceaser, Dominique Ceaser, and Dekwandre Hamilton, and great-grandchildren Zipporah Hamilton, D’Vorah Hamilton, and Zayvion Ceaser.
