He married Velda W. Kenyon in 1958 and later divorced in 1970

Six beautiful children: Gerald Jr., Jewel, Roger, Cherylann, Janat & Enola Monckton

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore & Lola Monckton. His siblings, Patricia, Ronald & Barbara. His two children, Roger Monckton & Janat Wallace.

*Multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews

Graduated from Milwaukie High School, was an Army Veteran of armed forces, served in the Korean war.

Gerald Sr. enjoyed the Portland area his entire life.

1943 At age 7, he was Shanghai for two years to Australia.

He was a ecclectic collector of all things, avid newspaper reader, stayed tuned to current events, most of all looked forward to and loved family visits and overnight stays where music, family card, dice and board games where enjoyed by all!

He brought Joy, laughter & light to so many.

He was in adult foster care for the last 17 years where he became part of Ray & Malou Mendoza’s family and was treated with loving care.
