Evelyn Mae Schanilec

(April 12th, 1940-January 21st, 2018)

Evelyn M. Schanilec, 77, passed away on Sunday, January 21st at her home in Portland, OR.

Evelyn Mae Slivicki was born the youngest of six children on April 12, 1940 in Minto, ND, the daughter of Frank and Sally Slivicki (Duray).  She graduated from Minto High School.  After living in Minneapolis, she returned to Minto where she worked at Ray’s Bar before moving to Phoenix, AZ and finally retiring to Portland, OR.  Evelyn married Herman Lucas Schanilec on July 22nd 1979.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her brother (Earnest Slivicki), her brother (Raymond Slivicki), her brother (Norman Slivicki), her brother (David Slivicki) and her sister (Theresa Kapsner).

She is survived by her beloved husband, Herman Schanilec, son Mike (Rhonda) Whalen and grandchildren Darby and Amelia Whalen.

Evelyn was an avid cook, reader, sports fan and full time grandma.
