Ethel Louise Sanders

Ethel Louise Sanders was born August 22^nd 1941 in Oil City, Louisiana by midwife to Jessie Hill and Willie Mae Hill (Tillman).  They moved to Blythe, California in 1953 where Ethel met and married her late husband Harvey Sanders and five children were born to this union.

She later relocated to Little Rock, California in the late 1960’s where Ethel held a position at Lockheed Aircraft as a plane assembler.  In the mid 1970’s, Ethel also worked for Lynden Farms in Portland, Oregon.

Ethel also studied at the Sylvania campus of Portland Community College to receive a certificate in culinary school of cooking.

As a teenager Ethel came to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.  She served the Lord in various positions; such as being over the pastor fund and culinary hostess, and she sat on the mother board at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Portland, Oregon. In addition Ms. Sanders was Sr. mother at Unity Family Church in Vancouver, Washington.

On October the 11^th 2020 Ethel Louise Sanders left this life to be with the Lord Jesus Christ.  She was proceeded in death by her father and mother, Jessie and Willie Mae Hill and two sisters, Jessie Mae Scott, also known as ”J” PeeWee or P and Margaret Polk, also known as “Mickey”.

Ethel is survived by her siblings, Betty, Jacqueline, Jessie, Ossie, Robert and Evelyn Hill.  She is also survived by her children, Viola Sanders, Alee and son-in-law Leon Walton, Brenda Horey and her son Brent Sanders; let’s not forget Eviola who passed at the age of six months.

Ethel Louise Sanders was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.

Nikkia Austin, Kimothy Jr., John and Aprentice King, LaShawn Williams, Alyeshia, Jayleon, Donziema, Dayiron, Mathew and Bayleygh Walton, Ray Whitfield and Norman Horey Jr., Takii Sanders and a host of beloved family and friends.
