Dr. Louis R. Erich fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, June 11, 2012 at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lillian (McFeters) Erich; his sons, Jonathan, Kevin and Timothy; his daughter, Jana (Chapman); ten grandchildren; and many close friends.

Born on November 7, 1928 in Shanghai, China, the son of missionary parents Otis and Julia Erich, Louis lived in China until the age of 11 when his family moved to the states in 1939.- He subsequently graduated from Pacific Union College (where he met Lillian), and then earned a doctor of medicine degree from the College of Medical Evangelists (now Loma Linda University School of Medicine) in 1955.

Louis and Lillian served as missionaries in Korea and then Singapore between 1959 and 1977. Then they settled in Sonora, California where Dr. Erich practiced medicine until retirement. After retiring Louis & Lillian moved to Paradise, California where they lived for 3 ½ years. They then relocated to CherryWood Village in Portland, Oregon where they have resided for the last 5 years.
