Doug C. Strutz passed peacefully with his family by his side on October 8, 2012 ending his year long battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease).- He will always live in our hearts and be remembered by those that knew him as a gentle, caring, and patient man who never met anyone who did not become a friend.

Doug was born in Portland on December 8, 1950 and grew up in Tigard. He graduated from Portland State University and spent the next 35 years as a manufactures representative with Bailey Sales and Associates, selling plumbing supplies throughout the Pacific Northwest, until his retirement in February 2012.

Doug is survived by his wife of 33 years, Caron; his son and daughter-in-law Marshall and Jammie; his brother and sister-in law Larry and Renae and their family.- Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Nettie.

Doug’s final request was that no service be held to mourn him but a party be held to celebrate and rejoice his release from ALS.
