Doug Pottruff. formerly of Townsend, Montana, passed away August 20, 2016 in Portland, Oregon. He was born January 30, 1959, in Flint, Michigan to Mel and Doris Pottruff, joining brothers Kerry, Greg and Bob. Doug was the toddler seen following his older brothers, from the open landscape surrounding Mammoth in Yellowstone Park to the field across South Harrison before it became the Ballpark. He attended schools in Townsend, graduating from Broadwater County High School.

Doug began bowling in high school in Townsend. To say he was an accomplished bowler is an understatement. At one point, he had received an award for every achievement celebrated by bowling associations. His perfect 300 games number in the double digits. He was even asked to consider becoming a pro, but back problems and family life intervened.

Doug was preceded in death by Mel and Doris in Townsend. He is survived by his three sons, Joshua Carter, currently of San Diego; Dillon James and Kamron Lee, currently of Portland. He is also survived by his three brothers and their families, Kerry and Carol (and Madison) of Billings, Montana; Greg and Kathy (and Jordan) of Great Falls, Montana; and Bob and LaRae of Billings, Montana (and Kendra Rabenburg of Great Falls, Montana).

Cremation has taken place.
