Dorothy Kay (Conley) Dinneen, age 80,a resident of Gresham, Oregon, passed awaySaturday, September 1, 2018.

Dorothy was born January 7, 1938, in Billings, Mont. and relocated to Portland, Ore. in 1949. She was an  active volunteer, particularly with Meals on Wheels and the Food Bank.

She graduated from Immaculata Academy High School and continued on to receive a teaching degree from the University of Portland. In 1959, Dorothy married J.C. and went on to  raise six children.

Dorothy spent a year in Laos with her husband and children volunteering with the Tom Dooley Foundation. She enjoyed special travels with her  grandson, Marco, happy hours with close friends and beach vacations with her family. Dorothy was a voracious reader, had a knack for sending thoughtful cards, enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee and had an adoration for music and dancing. Dorothy’s open-door policy and infectious energy created a home base for family and friends alike.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Catherine  Conley; son Paul Dinneen; husband of 45 years, Dr. James Clark Dinneen ; and sister, Mary Ellen (Conley) McCarthy.

Dorothy is survived by her children; Blake Dinneen, Catherine (Dinneen) DeBakker and husband Robert DeBakker, Jay Dinneen, Annette Dinneen and Colette (Dinneen) Cottrill  and husband Cdavid Cottrill. She is also survived by her sister, Annette (Conley) Godwin, 6 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces  and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on  Sunday, September 16th at 11 am at Omega Funeral Home, 223 SE 122nd Avenue, Portland, Ore. 97223. Celebration to follow at the Dinneen Residence, 30930 SE Pipeline Road, Gresham, Ore. 97080. CLICK HERE FOR DIRECTIONS
