David was an amazing friend. We had a rough past but I knew his future would be be better without me in it. We parted ways so many times, and yet he kept in contact. His big heart is what kept him going always. I'm sorry he left again without saying good bye but I know one day .. we might just met again. FYI David, if your looking down on me did you ever find my class ring you were going to return??? 🙂 lol I'll always remember RED ROBIN and the late night fries! Prayers to your family

Deepest Sadness to the Family. Went to school with David. He was my best friend. To soon for you to be gone from this world. May the Lord provided you peace and give the family strength to over come the heartache. You will be deeply missed.

David was one of the first people to teach me how to dragon boat and I still hear his voice in the back of the boat sometimes. I will always remember the time at the final races in Portland when he forgot his PFD and had to grab a loaner really quick, but only youth sizes were available at the dock; he somehow got it strapped around him and the sight of the big presence that David was all bound up in a tiny life vest sent the whole boat roaring with laughter. We won that heat. I will miss him greatly. Thank you David. Thoughts to all his family and friends who are grieving.

David has taught many people to till and paddle dragon boats. Many memories of him and the dragon boating. He was much to young. Prayers to his family and friends for strength to endure the times ahead grieving for him. Paddles Up!

My heart broke to learn of David’s passing. We were both on the Sirens dragon boat racing team. Although he was a quiet and gentle person, he had a fierce competitive streak on the boat. Just before a race against one of our biggest rivals, David and I were bantering with the other team’s tiller. David tilled aggressively that race and we “accidentally” crossed into the other team’s lane and bumped into their boat. The Sirens paddled savagely to cross the finish line first. That was the most memorable and fun race of my life and I loved every minute of it. My deepest condolences to David’s family. He was a good friend in the dragon boat community.
