Constance “Connie” Marie Guentner

January 19, 1947 – February 19, 2021

Constance “Connie” Marie Guentner of Portland, Oregon passed away in her home, surrounded by family, on February 19, 2021.

She was born January 19, 1947 in Portland, Oregon. Daughter of the late Carl R Carlson and Viola Carlson, she is survived by her son Kristoffer Guentner, his spouse Kallie Guentner, Granddaughter Brinley Guentner, Brothers Bob Carlson, married to Nancy Carlson, Richard Carlson married to Kathie Carlson, and Rodney Carlson.  She is also survived by three nieces, two nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.

Connie Graduated from Franklin High School in SE Portland in 1965 and went on to pursue a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Portland State University.

Connie worked for Janzen Corporation in the late 70’s and then found her calling as an accountant. She started working for Freightliner Corporation in 1978 and retired in 2007.

One thing Connie loved most was Christmas. When you walked into her home she would have Christmas decorations up year-round. She also enjoyed doing crafts. She crafted anything and everything from ceramics to toll painting to paper crafts, and more. She also was devoted to piecing together the family tree. She was the go-to history buff in the family! Connie also loved to travel. Many days were carved out for family vacations, camping trips and spur of the moment, weekend get-a-ways, with her son Kristoffer. On top of her love for Christmas, crafts and travel she loved to gather with her friends to host parties and game nights to play Bunko. Connie would always refer to her friends as The Munchbunch.

Connie was well loved by her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
