Christine L. (Church) Hoermann

May 28, 1949 – January 6, 2022

Christine Lynn (Church) Hoermann beloved daughter of the late William H. Church, Jr. and Claire J. Anderson passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on the night of January 6th, 2022 in her home in Portland, OR. Christine, known fondly by friends and family as “Chris” or “Chrissy”, was born in Norwalk, CT on May 28, 1949 where she resided for nearly 70 years before moving to Portland, Oregon with her youngest child, Adah Hoermann.

She will be remembered for her strength of spirit and the joy she found in nature, peace, and love. She was an avid reader who loved traveling and music. She is predeceased by her parents, her former husband, Thomas J. Hoermann, Jr., and her son, Ian T. Hoermann. Chris was a loving friend, sister, mother, grandmother and aunt and is survived by, and deeply missed by her daughters, Kelly Straniti and her husband Artie Straniti, of Ashburn, VA and Adah Hoermann and their husband Peter Addy, of Portland, OR, her grandchildren, Hallie Parrent, Emerson Straniti, Gilian McHugh, and Zoe Hoermann, her great-grandchild, Patrick McHugh, IV as well as her four younger siblings: Pattilee Church, Tom Church and his wife, Arden, Heidi Elbert and Steven Van Williams, as well as nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at her home in Portland, OR starting at 5 PM on Saturday, January 15th and the funeral will begin at 6 PM.
