Charles (Chuck) Aubrey Ingram

May 04, 1934 – September 03, 2021

Charles (Chuck) Aubrey Ingram passed away 9/3/2021 at 87 years of age. He was born 5/4/1934. He liked to say “I was born in Portland and raised in Miami. What I just told you was the truth but what you heard was a lie. I was born in Portland, Arkansas and grew up in and around Miami, Arizona”. Times were hard for this last child of Stephen Ralph Ingram and Pearlie Beaty. The family seemed always to be on the move. There was only one year where Chuck attended the same school the full year. Chuck’s father passed away in 1945 while they were living in Arizona. In 1950 Pearlie had married again and this new family moved to Florence, Oregon area.

Even though his mom went back to Arkansas, Chuck stayed in Oregon and began working as a logger for $2.00 an hour. At 16 he was able to purchase a home for him and his mom in Oregon (who had moved back from Arkansas to Oregon). In 1953 Chuck married Laura Marjorie Tolman. She brought 2 children to the marriage and between them they had 2 more children. A saw mill accident forced Chuck to quit the hard labor and in 1969 he went back to school to become an engineer. He was single for 15 years. During this time he married a Nina Slobig for a short time. He held various handyman/engineering jobs/truck driving. He began “Playing Pioneer” at various county fairs.  He learned to square dance. He married Dianne (Petersen) Fuller in 1988. They lived in the Aloha area their whole married life. All his siblings have proceeded him in death. His children are: Stan (lives Lone Pine, Montana), Laura Roberts (lives Mitchell, IN), Charlie (Lives Estacada, Or.) and Sue Harris who passed away the same day as her dad. He has 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren (soon to be 15) and 3 great great grandchildren.

He enjoyed woodworking, whittling and dumb jokes. He enjoyed old cowboy movies, Hank Williams music, and reminiscing about the past- both good and bad. He brought smiles to many people by handing out his “whittled” hearts and avocado seed faces.
