Carol Jean Haag

July 22, 1936 – October 27, 2020

Carol Jean Haag, age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at her home in Hillsboro, OR with her husband of 65 years by her side. She was born July 22, 1936, in Fresno, CA, to Viola and Lester Edminster.

Carol loved to swim and partook in numerous extracurricular activities. She met the love of her life while swimming at a pool after hours on a blind date, he later took her out on an official date making her favorite meal spaghetti and garlic bread. She married her Raymond Haag on November 5, 1955. Together they moved to Hillsboro in 1962 and raised their five children and animals on their three acre farm.

In 1984, Carol and Ray opened their own gift and floral shop called Country Gardens. Carol worked tirelessly in her gardens to make them immaculate to entertain wedding ceremonies and painters. She loved sewing and made exquisite quilts. You would often find her in the kitchen working on her puzzles.

Carol was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and enjoyed holiday gatherings where she would bake her famous lemon bars and homemade ice cream.

She is survived by her husband Raymond Haag; son Mark Haag and daughter-in-law Erin; son Chris Haag and daughter-in-law Cindy; daughter Lisa Goldbeck and son-in-law Randy; daughter Laura Myers; son Grant Haag and daughter-in-law Holly, nieces and nephews, seventeen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Viola Edminster, and by her brother Lester Jr. Edminster.
