Betty Lucille Jones Konkle

January 28, 1934 – March 9, 2021

Betty was born in Independence, Kansas on January 28, 1934 to Cecil M. Jones and Bessie Wade Jones.   Her family moved from Kansas to Giles Lake housing which was located in northwest Portland in 1944 where her father was an electrician in the shipyards.  The family moved to 111^th and NE Broadway in 1945 where lived with her parents and siblings Betty until she married.

Betty graduated from Parkrose High School, class of 1951.  She married Glen Konkle in San Diego, CA on October 5, 1951.  They made their home in southeast Portland and lived in east Multnomah County all their lives.

Betty worked for IRS and CPA’s most of her life.  She spent her free time Tole painting, taking her mother-in-law to the coast to hunt for agates, quilting and genealogy.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Glen, brothers Jack and Bill Jones, son Kevin and granddaughter Monica.

She is survived by her daughter Tracy (Harry) Miller of Kasilof, Alaska and son Dana (Doris) Konkle and granddaughter Rylie all of Amboy, WA.

Betty was buried with her husband in Smyrna Cemetery in Yoder, OR along with Glen’s siblings who died in childhood.

No services were held at Betty’s request.
