Austin was born July 7, 1939 in Seattle. He is survived by his wife, Julie; stepsister, Diane Dewey of Washington; granddaughters, Ashley Climenson and Jamie Cline; and various extended family. He loved the sea and his ashes will be spread in the Pacific Ocean.
