Alvin Malcolm Yanzick August 12, 1927-February 9, 2015 Al was born in Spearfish, South Dakota to Steve and Elora Belle Yanzick. He was the second born of nine children. Upon graduating from Spearfish High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served two years in Korea. Once he returned he studied and graduated from Black Hills Teachers College; where he met his wife Elizabeth Maliske and married soon after. He worked as a teacher and coach at Hettinger High School in South Dakota, St. Patrick’s High School in Walla Walla, Central Catholic High School and Reynolds High School. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, children; Steve, Kathy, Dennis, Barbara, James and Susan Yanzick, 17 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, February 20, 2015 at All Saints Catholic Church to celebrate his life.
