William “Bill” Joseph Murray

March 20, 1936 – September 24th, 2021

On the morning of September 24^th, 2021 at 2:16 AM, William “Bill” Joseph Murray passed away at the home of a family member in Oregon City, Oregon.  During the last weeks of his life, he was surrounded by family and comforted by his wife being at his bedside.

Bill was born on March 20^th in 1936 in Detroit, Michigan.  Bill’s parents were William Adelard Murray and Elsie Lauretta Wisner.  Bill is survived by his wife Susan Murray, four children: Janice, William Jr & his wife Christine, Robert and Michael Murray, and eight grandchildren: Amanda, Kayti, William, Tanner and Bishop Murray and Riley, Jenna and Ainsley Buchanan and sister Marlene Kulka.

Bill and Sue spent much of their last 25 years splitting time between Oregon City, Oregon and Bill’s lake house in Northern Michigan.  Bill was an avid outdoorsmen and spent a lot of time hunting and fishing.  He enjoyed reminiscing about those times.  Bill also traveled the US, Canada and Africa in pursuit of his hunting passion.  Bill was a pattern maker by trade in the auto industry in Detroit for much of his career.  Growing up in motor city, Bill also enjoyed auto racing like NASCAR.
