April 5, 1975 - July 7, 2024 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends At 2:18am on the early morning of July 7th, 2024, Walt passed away at Legacy Emanuel Hospital as the result of injuries sustained from a gunshot wound. Walt had taken a side job as an event security guard on the night of July 6th, 2024. He had hopes of making enough money to visit his daughter (Emily) and grandkids in Kansas. During the event Walt would become the victim of a drive by shooting, being shot in the neck. Despite lifesaving measures Walt would sadly succumb to his wounds, being pronounced dead at the age of 49. Walt was born in Portland OR, on April 5th, 1975, he was the 2nd child and the first son born of Marcella Leedham and Robbert Mulberry “deceased”. Walt was a kind and loving person who had many hobbies he enjoyed such as fishing, hiking, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family. Even though Walt did not have much money he would not hesitate to give his last cent to anyone in need. Walt was a man who would have given you the shirt right off his back. Walt always placed others before himself, even going as far as to make sure everyone else was fed before he ate. It goes without saying Walt was a great man, with an even greater heart. Walt is survived by his daughter Emily Shute; two grandbabies Wesley and Bella; two sisters Vickie and Brenda; an uncle and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews; all who loved him dearly. A viewing service will be held from 10am to 4pm on July 21st, at Omega Funeral and Cremation Service located at 223 SE 122nd Ave Portland OR. A calibration of life will be held at his sister’s house for his friends and family. Regarding flower donations, they can be sent to the Omega Funeral Home or sent to his sister Vickie’s house. Walts family wants to give thanks to the Legacy Emanual Hospital for doing everything they could to try and save Walt’s life. And a special thanks to the officers who are working on Walt’s case and to the Omega Funeral Homes for helping our family with all of Walt’s cremation needs.Walter Mulberry
