Thomas James Loos

October 2, 1943 – April 12, 2023

Thomas James Loos of Portland, Oregon died April 12th, 2023.  He was 79 years old.  Thomas passed away peacefully after battling dementia for several years.

Tom was born on October 2nd, 1943 in Portland, Oregon to Leroy and Peggy Loos.  He grew up in Northeast Portland with 5 brothers and 1 sister.  He graduated from Jefferson High School and went to work for the Burlington Northern Railroad.  He worked for the railroad for 42 years before he retired in 2003.  He loved his family, fishing, golfing, all sports on television, music, reading and possibly more than anything talking and sharing stories with friends and family.

Tom is survived by his wife Margaret and large family including sons, Sean, Tim and Erik; grandchildren Matthew, Rachel, Amanda, Natalie, Dylan, Skyler, and Aven; brothers Leroy, Robert, William, Ronald and Richard Joseph; sister Margaret and his mother Peggy.

A funeral service for Thomas Loos will be held at Omega Funeral Home on Saturday, April 22nd, at 10:00 am.  Visitation begins at 9:00 am.  Graveside service to follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham.  Flowers may be sent to Omega Funeral Home 223 SE 122nd Ave, Portland, Oregon, 97233.

A Celebration of Life will be held April 22, 2023. Noon-3PM following the graveside service at Cosmopolotan Ballroom, Eastlund Hotel, 1021 NE Grand Avenue, Portland, Oregon.
