Share your Memorial with Family & Friends

I was so sorry to belatedly learn of Teresa’s passing. We had been like sisters but for reasons I can’t explain, we drifted apart. I thought of her often over the years and was just searching for her and Tapelink when I read the sad news. I’m sending regards to Ben, Jacque and the Bollard family. Maura

I am one of the Schmidt cousins. Although I am not actually Teresa’s niece, she always made me feel like one. I lovingly referred to her as Aunt Teresa. She just had a warm and loving way about her. When I was young, I would cry leaving family gatherings because I was having so much fun playing with her. She just had a magical way about her, whether we were playing pretend, or a game. Whatever it was, her energy, her smile, her laugh was contagious. She was also worldly to to me, I was inspired by her travels. Most recently her time back Portland allowed for her to get to know my own children, which was so special. She lovingly captured every moment of our precious family times down in Rockaway. I am forever grateful for those memories. For all the laughter and good times together. We will miss you Teresa but your heart, your spirit lives on through all of us. I will try to carry on your ability to capture all the good times?? Love you. Love Cousin Lo

Words can't describe how shocked we were to hear of T's passing. T and I met in Singapore in 1994 when I was working at Video Headquarters and she at Tape Link, we worked very closely and our friendship bloomed over the years. T was our witness at our wedding ceremony, she was our dear friend, work colleague, Aunt T, part of the Sick and Twisted. She had a heart of gold, and was always there for you. We will miss your smiling face, your laughter and most of all your fun sense of humor. Love you T, may you rest in peace. Heart Broken. Sonya and Per Johanson (California)

In 1995, T invited me to join her as Manager of Tape Link Singapore and she has been a big part of my life ever since. When Jacque and I got married, T surprised us with the best planned honeymoon and when Eden and Matthew were borned, we asked T to be their godmother. She called them Eden-schmeeden & Matt-Me-Boy. T was so good with them and they adored her. T introduced them to Halloween nights, Thanksgiving, Easter Egg Hunts and Christmas traditions. She was their protector & guardian angel. They loved sleepovers at Godma's. They would bake cookies and T would take them to the American Club for lunch. T really spared no effort to ensure that she did her Godma duty well. Eden-schmeeden and Matt-Me-Boy grew up as the luckiest kids because they have Godma T to guide them through their formative years and they grew up with the best of both the West and the East. She deserved Godma of the millennium award indeed. When my parents passed on, she was there to help us with the kids. Eden and Matt were very young then. She would stay with them until Jacque and I returned from the funeral wakes. T and I introduced our extended families to each other. Jacque, Eden, Matt and I had the privilege of staying at Brian and Kelly's and meeting her family in Portland. In Singapore, Jacque and I would have T over for family dinners with our families. Her family became ours and ours, hers. T can be a goof at times, though. Once, at a Chinese wedding in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, she felt thirsty and downed an entire glass of Hennessey cognac (not JD) thinking it was Chinese tea! And who drowns a plate of chicken rice with soya sauce?...well, T did! Sheeshkanheima! T was a wonderful lady and human being, generous to a fault and kind to everyone who had the opportunity to meet her. The legacy she left behind can never be filled. I have lost a mentor and older sister. She will forever be in our thoughts and prayers. We love you, T, always and forever. Ben & Jacque, Eden & Matt (Singapore)

Teresa was all about including everyone, even the neighbors. Our children knew her as Aunt Teresa as she always took the time to listen and find out more about their lives. She then would find a way to share a wonderful story or joke to keep us smiling. This exteneded to their children as she made a point to get to know each child and remember them during holidays. Thanks for always sharing your love and welcoming spirit with us. Our sincere sympathy to your family, the Bauers

A beautiful lady’s “work is done” way too early! I’ve known dear Teresa since she was seven years old as her Dad Homer was our “best man” at our wedding 60 years ago! I shall forever treasure how her recent visit with me was filled with laughs & stories of fun times spent with her (surrogate) Uncle Leo,Aunt Jean,Mike,David & Melissa! Aloha Nui.

I am at a loss for words. Teresa was a shining light in my life. We shared many wonderful times together in Cannes and Singapore. A good friend that you could laugh or cry with but I would say our tines were filled with more laughter and shenanigans. Thanks for adding so much to my life. With much love, Cassie

Teresa has been a part of our lives since as long as we can remember. We first met her when she was working in Jakarta and became great mates when she moved to Singapore. She was there when our daughters were born, offering comfort and advice, and she was also there when our friends and relatives passed - offering the same comfort and advice. She always had an "open house" attitude and loved entertaining, making sure that everyone's birthdays were covered and overseas visitors were looked after. Despite her love of Singapore and its wonderful people, her love of family back in the U.S. was stronger and we were delighted when she made the decision to retire and head home. Singapore's loss was Portland's gain and we knew she would continue on her path of caring and concern. We are so glad we shared so many years with you T. You remain in our hearts forever - albeit very much broken right now. Chris & Nancy Batson (Perth - Australia)
