Steven Robert Boldman

June 13, 1946 – July 26, 2023

On the morning of Wednesday, July 26. 2023 Steve passed away at Maxim Elder Care due to kidney failure. Steve had celebrated his 77th birthday June 13.

Steve was born June 13, 1946 in Portland, Oregon. He was the second child and the first son of Bob and Dorothy Boldman. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1964 and attended one year at Oregon State University before being drafted into the U.S. Army.

Steve worked as a senior business analyst for Nike for 20 years. He retired in 2000.

As a kid living near the Eastmoreland golf course Steve enjoyed playing. He had always wanted to play scratch golf when he retired. He was an avid sports fan of the OSU Beavers, the Minnesota Vikings and the Portland Winter Hawks.

He was a voracious reader and was a wordsmith of crossword puzzles. He always worked the puzzles in ink! As a result of being a cook during his Army stint he was great in the kitchen and always was the one carving the turkey at family gatherings.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Dorothy Boldman. He is survived by his sisters Linda Beith , Cynthia Potwin and Patricia Mortimer, brothers Jeff Boldman and Mark Boldman, and eleven nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial was held in August for Steve at Willamette National Cemetery in honor of his service during Vietnam (1966-68).

Because of his failing health Steve spent the last six months of his life at the Maxim Elder Care. Our family appreciates the care and attention that Kim and Eugene at Maxim , his Hospice nurse Ron and all the care givers provided to make Steve’s last months as comfortable as possible. Thank you. Special thanks to Steve’s long term friend Alan Schaeffer who visited often with books and take out food.
