November 5, 2020 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Spencer E. Brisso was called to his eternal home in heaven on November 5, 2020 in Portland, Oregon. Spencer was born in 1927 in Pierce, Nebraska to Ezra and Marie (Braeuer) Brisso. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Pierce, Nebraska and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hadar, Nebraska. He graduated from Pierce High School in May of 1945. Following graduation, he served in the US Army from August 1945 until April 1947 as a Regimental Clerk with the Ninth Infantry Regiment, Second Infantry Division. He married Alice Ertzner in 1952 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Norfolk, Nebraska. He attended Norfolk Junior College before entering and graduating from the University of Minnesota College of Mortuary Science in 1954. He was a licensed embalmer and funeral director in Minnesota. Later he moved to California where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Los Angeles State College. The family moved to Springfield, Oregon in 1967 where Spencer was employed for 20 years by Pierce Manufacturing Corporation as a Chief Financial Officer. He retired in 1989. Spencer was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Eugene, Oregon and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Portland, Oregon at the time of his death.
Spencer is survived by his three children; Audie Brisso of Beaverton, Oregon, Karyn (Arlen) Apitz of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, and Deanna (Dave) Dahlberg of Ridgefield, Washington, and by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Spencer was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
