Mom was given a cancer diagnosis on May 7th placed on Kaiser Hospice May 17th died at home on May 20th, way too soon. But she is out of pain and reunited with Dad, Dolly and so many who were waiting for her.

Services will be at The Willamette National Cemetery 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd. Portland 97086 Friday May 25th at 9:30 graveside service. After service everyone is invited to her home for some coffee and light refreshments.

From 1955 she was at home raising 5 amazing J children for many years however after dad retired early from his job at the City of Portland, mom went to work. She worked at Wards with her sister Donna, for many years and met some great friends two are Linda and Kathy. After Wards closed she worked at Burlington.  She was in the Linen/bedding department for most of those years (this may be why she has so much bedding, could supply a homeless shelter)

She enjoyed:  reading, puzzles (spent many winter evenings as a kids helping her put them together) Yahtzee, Aggravation (she cheated but Nancy and Shelley gave her a run for her money) and lots of Farkel. Of course her favorite hobby was Garage sales, mainly with her neighbor and close friend Jenny. I can remember Jenny’s yellow VW bug with Dalton and Chrissy in the back seat loaded with garage sale bargains. Funny thing the last time I (Deb) took mom out was on Saturday May 5th to Donna’s garage sale with Jenny in the backseat. We were gone for hours driving down endless streets in Milwaukie, looking for sales.

Mom’s favorite TV programs were: Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud (always joked Steve Harvey was her boyfriend) and of course when Wednesday night came she was up past her usual 8:00 bed time to watch Survivor. Daytime TV was always the judge shows and cops.
